What Is PerDayLA?

PerDay LA is a simple website, founded on a simple idea: that there is always something going on in the glorious city of Los Angeles. Each day, we make one suggestion about what to do for the current day, and the following one. Where would you find me, if I had the time? Whether it be live music, a comedy show, a special event, or a happy hour at a great bar or restaurant, we make our suggestion for each day. We understand that Los Angeles can be an overwhelming city to both foreigners and locals. We make it easy for you to know what's happenning in this city.

We also emphasize that each day is, and has been, historically significant. What happened on this very day 450 years ago, for example? What great philosopher was born? What groundbreaking discovery was made? Which tragic event took place? 

By comparing the current day to historical events taken place on the same date, one begins to realize that history is being made every day. Technology only speeds up that process. More importantly, each one of us has our own story to tell and our own history to write.

This website is a virtual embodiment of a philosophy we try to live by.  It is important to learn from the past, but it is also important to forgive yourself and move on. We live our lives, per day, with the sense that each day is greater than the last. That history has been, and will be made on this very day, whether or not you want to take part in it.

It is also a reminder that we have great music, hilarious comedy, free events, and world-famous food at our fingertips. Each day brings it's own adventure, and tells it's own story. It is a reminder that there is no excuse to not take advantage of this city, or to not take advantage of your life. 

So hopefully some of you will make it a daily ritual to discover something new.
